Title: CD Changer

I've got a Mk5 gti, which currently has a RCD300 headunit and a 6 disk changer in the armrest.
Looking to upgrade the headunit, but keep the changer working, I understand from research that the changer is made by sony. Any ideas if a sony aftermarket headunit will be compatible with the cd changer?

the factory changer will only work with the factory h/u
even though it is made by sony it is not compatible with an aftermarket unit i'm afraid
