I have just over 1000 miles on the car now and I still have a few issues with it that need sorted. I just need to check with you guys in case I am imagining them!
1, Xenons - When on dipped beam they are way too low. I can barely see 20ft in front on the car. If I am travelling over 50mph, I don't even have enough time to avoid potholes. Could they be set too low? They are fine on full beam.
2, One touch windows - My driver's side window doesn't go down with one touch but it does go up with one touch. The passenger window does both.
3, Door seals - I can hear wind coming in a tiny bit once over 50mph. Bloody annoying.
4, Fiscon kit - I got the dealer to fit my Fiscon kit but I don't think it is in correctly. I can only answer calls by touching the screen. I understood I would be able to use the 'OK' button but it does nothing. There is also a lot of interference when on a call. I tried moving the phone about and it doesn't seem to be affected as much when it sits on the passenger seat. The problem is that I have it connected so I can use it as an iPod. Anybody else had this? I know the dealer might not be able to do anything as it is an extra to the car. Are there any Fiscon experts in Northern Ireland?
5, Steering wheel - The steering wheel sits slightly off centre. If I am travelling down a straight road my left hand would be higher than my right. I again might be imagining this but because The car thinks it is slightly turning right, I think the adaptive lights turn quicker to the right than when I turn left. (I hope that made sense).
Let me know if you have any experience of these problems and if you have any solutions, thanks.

1. Have you used the range adjuster near the headlight switch?
2. They work like that on my Passat, I think.
3. I've read that it can be cured by adjusting the latch.
4. I'll leave this to a Fiscon expert, but I think the steering wheel button is a coding issue.
5. Differing tyre pressures? When I changed the wheels on my current car, I had the same thing. I had the suspension alignment checked and although within factory tolerances there was a difference in wheel camber left to right. Once adjusted, it was better. If different to standard, the offset of your wheels might make the steering more sensitive to road camber.

1. On Xenons there is no manual adjustment, it's auto levelling. It is supposed to be low though, not to dazzle the incoming traffic but it does seem a little bit too low sometimes...

3. don't assume its the door seals- there is a known whislting issue from the wing mirrors

So they never fixed that issue the mk5 had with the mk6.

1, Xenons - I do think they're a little low, but it doesn't dazzle the car in front and also not an issue in "light pollution filled" London!
2, One touch windows - not noticed, but I think my driver's window is one touch up and down. It is defo one touch for all windows, even those at the back (for those with 5 doors)
3, Door seals - not noticed, but could be cos I have my stereo up?
4, Fiscon kit - not applicable to me as I have the VW kit
5, Steering wheel - again not noticed. One to add though is that I have never noticed the lights turn in a corner. Could it be that they are too low and hard to notice due to light pollution?!

Agreed about the door seals. Mine has a slight whistle but I reckon you only notice it because it's so damned quiet otherwise.

4. On my fiscon installed kit I can press either the telephone button or the OK button to answer or hang up a call.

Huh, i was under the impression that you couldn't use the phone button with the fiscon kit, it was the main thing making me lean towards the mObridge kit, did fiscon install it for you? if so that may be the reason the phone button works for you and not for other people who installed it themselves and had the vag.com treatment, perhaps they know something no-one else does? Like Bluetooth Jedi??????

So was I until my daughter phoned me last night on my way home from work and not thinking I pressed the phone button on the side of the MFSW and it answered the call. When I finished talking to her I asked her to call me back in case it was a fluke but it worked fine and also hung the call up. I'm pretty positive this didn't work previously. I haven't updated the firmware since getting it.
I fitted it myself. Anyone that pays more than a couple of pounds to have this fitted is off their head. It is literally a plug and play device.

I'm having the same issue on the door seals - there is a whilstling sound from the drivers door.
I see some people say it's possibly a whilstling noise coming from the mirrors. Still, it can be annoying if the radio isn't on.

Sorry to Hijack the thread a little bit. So does the volume of a call through the speakers change with the volume buttons as well? if not then i think thats pretty much the main difference between mobridge n fiscon hardware, of course there's the other bits like DTMF tones and so on.

So much for German engineering.
Has to be the door seals or the way the doors are aligned along the leading and trailing edges to the rest of the bodywork.
I am driving a Honda Civic Type R GT at present which is beautifully made in Britain with no wind noise. However, it's ride is as hard as a corpse on Viagra!
I will be getting my GTi 3rd week of March. I do hope these issues will not surface on my car.
It would drive me mad.

Yes the volume buttons increases / decreases the level of the sound of the call as the call is routed through the head unit!!
DTMF tones don't work but its not a real hardship as you can press the phone buttons while in a call to activate the DTMF tones ;)

^^^Mate....I'm sold, Thanks very much, thank god cos it's "fair old poke" down to the mobridge place from brum.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I am going to get the car back to the dealer anyway and tell them to fix some of the issues.
Does anyone know a Fiscon expert in Northern Ireland who could check if mine is installed properly?

What's the car performance like on the for a GTD170? I intrested to hear your views!! Thanks Steve
