Has anybody had problems with theirs? I "might" be getting an R reg 8v with a duff passenger mirror, right hand one is OK so that rules out the 4 position switch on the door.
That leaves the selector button on the right hand door or the motor itself, any help would be appreciated. ;D

IF IT IS A MK4 GOLF, IT IS PROLLY THE WINDOW REGULATOR WHICH HAS GONE, U NEED TO FIND OUT IF THE MOTOR IS MAKING A NOISE OR NOT
GARY

Erm, i would say it's unlikey that the window regulator is involved here!
Firstly make sure each mirror doesn't have a seperate fuse.? I doubt they have but i would still check!
It may be difficult to test the switch if it's not your car as i think you have to take most of the door card off to get at it.? However i suppose it's only a sort of rocker switch to connect either circuit so there's not really much that can go wrong with it.
The other cheap fix would be a loose connection somewhere.
If not, it's the motor.? Just phone VW and get a price for a motor and use that to haggle on the price of the car.? I think the motor is the most likely thing to be at fault.
