I really haven't been impressed at all with this stuff, I'm finding it hard to apply and murder to get off. Luckily I've only got about 25% left so when that's gone I will move on but really disappointed with it.

are you putting it on too thick?

Not really, using the supplied sponge applicators (moist), getting a minimal even coat over the whole car, doing the whole acr rather than panel by panel. No direct sunlight etc.
I know this time of year is a bit cold but I found it the same in summer, just a bugger to get off. However today with wash, AG deep polish, AG paint seal and then the HD wax the finish was astounding on my Mk6 GTI, just bloody hard work!!

try doing a panel at a time or two and see how that goes, some wax's can be a pain to remove
as you stated: the cold weather does not help with wax application and removel, for winter months id suggest a good quick detailer or a good sealant or both and leave your wax tucked up till spring

I'm down on the south coast, we missed most of the snow and the temperatures are generally a little higher but yes, did have to wait for the frost to thaw this morning before getting stuck in! But it was the same on the summer.
So what other wax should I try???

Collonite 915.

as above, any of the collinite range is good, any of the dodojuice range is worth a punt though id recomend the hard waxs over the soft waxs as they will last you longer. also have a look into sealents(man made and highly durable)

I used to use AG HD Wax and it can be a pain to remove.
I'm currently using Chemical Guys Pure Concours 50/50. It gives a superior result to the AG product and is much easier to apply and remove. I think it was about £38.

It sounds like it's being left on the car for too long & or being applied too thick?
You say you have 25% left, how long has that lasted & how often do you apply it??
-
Yes maybe Schuey, I got it last summer and normally put on a new coat every 6 or 8 weeks. I have also used it on my wheels.

So that means about 6 coats or so based on 36 weeks & you have used 3/4 tub?? That's a lot, I would say it's a case of applying way too much......... Also check your frequency, if the car is 'beading' ok ,then no need to wax it. Some guys on here use quick detailer when no waxing is required, Dodo juice does a version of this as well as AG fast wax.
For wheel wax try poorboys, I think that's the one Guy recommends?

Cheers Schuey, I think i've been laying it on too thick but I am finding it doesn't bead that well after a month which is a it disappointing.
I use Poorboys on the wheels too but applied a LSP coating of the AG HD coming into the winter too.
I'll try using less but I still won't buy it again.
