Title: (No such things as) A Stupid Question
Post by: th3_f15t on 27 January 2010, 19:22
I need to replace the exhaust and inlet manilfold bolts. Can I use any general purpose bolts from any DIY store provided they're the same length and size as the ones I took out?

Yes, stupid question I know but I'd rather ask than buy some bolts to find they melt or something stupid cause the're not built for the job ect...

As long as they are at least 8.8 grade yes but a lot of bolts you buy are not and will no take the torque needed as they are too soft.

for the exhaust you really want studs, bolts have a habbit of snaping if youever atempt to remove them if used on exhaust manifolds, on inlet you'll be fine tho
