Hi all,I just got a mk3 1.8 gl for the lady to use.All in all its a very well looked after tidy car,My problem is when you are driving it felt slightly hesitant.I have had a poke around and have found the rubber that the carb sits on is split,Is there a thread or anyone that could me a heads up on how to take this of to change it.
I know its not a gti but i couldnt afford to insure 2 of them lol.
cheers guys

It is not a carb but easy enough to change.

No car over 1991 or 1992 with a catalytic converter was carbed, I think.

Correct, it is a SPI unit.

Therefore it will be a throttle body
And if anything like the 1.4/1.6 etc then it'll be held on with allen key bolts

Bit more than a throttle body as it will contain the injector.

Oh yea my bad lol
Keep forgetting the 1.4/1.6 I had were MPI

Its basically an electronic carb, very crude fuel injection
