OK so last year my insurance on my 2008 mkv gti was £2400 (would have been £300 more if i had of paid monthly), i was 24 at the time been driving for 1 year and with 1 year ncb.
Now i have gone 25, have 2 years ncb and my new cheapest quote is £1730 from quickfit, does this seem excessively high to anyone?
I dont live in a dodgy area or anything.
I expected it would have comedown alot more with 1 extra year ncb and going 25

Typically 1yrs no claims is worth around 15% discount, not sure that 24 - 25 makes much difference - it probably looks about right although I'm no expert

Hello mate
its hard to say as there are numerous things that affect the price of insurance.
If you PM me your name, number and a time to call. I'll run through a quote for you and see if we can do any better

Are you using comparison sites?

I tend to use a comparison site, find the cheapest and then go direct to apply but online. Also I find that for example if Im with tesco, when the renewal comes, cancel and then redo on line with the same company. You get a much better deal when re-applying online as your classed as a new customer to them.
I have a 1.9tdi, im 25 in march, my ins is £430 with 4 years no claims bonus.
