Another newbie question
How does the average fuel consumption on the MFD get calculated, mines fluctuating all over the place - is it just based on the journey that you are current on ?
thanks
Simon

You sure you're not looking at current fuel consumption???
You should be able to get it for the journey and also for overall.

There's a little 1 or a little 2 in top-right corner of the display. You can flick between each using the round button on the bottom of the stalk marked ' OK || Reset '
They can be re-set independently of each other - I use '2' as a lifetime total (Avg MPG 26.6) and '1' just keeps the trip totals you are on.
FYI, if you go somewhere the trip information re-sets itself after a couple of hours if you don't re-start the engine.

Thanks for that - exactly what I'm looking for, mine is currently showing 1 which I guess is just based on my current trip, I'd rather have the lifetime option displayed

Happy to help! :afro:
^^^^^ to be fair the lifetime option is really only for information and it won't really change much.
Example: I did approx a 100-mile round trip last weekend through about 40miles of those bl00dy average speed camera thingys and managed 42mpg.... It improved my lifetime average by 0.1mpg!!

And also the "2" will reset itself after 9999 miles

Ohh, didn't know that! I've only covered 7800 since I bought mine.

Yeah, its a bit ambiguous in the manual, but I got mine with it on 7k or so and watched it reset itself as it ticked over a few months later!
I've sadly done 14k since I got mine in April.... but its been an enjoyable 14k :D

your number 2 value normally resets after 99 hours and 59 minutes of driving :nerd:

Or maybe thats it! :D
Something to do with 9s :D

I have always found the current mpg indicator to be useless. It is just much too eratic and needs some kind of smoothing to give it some stability.
