Finally got round to checking my twitter, and Clarkson drove the new GTI on the 3rd Jan 2010.

All he has said is 'Great Car!'

any word on whether this will appear on the next series of top gear kev?  i would imagine they'll skip the GTI and go straight to the R?

Clarkson is a great TV entertainer, but does he really know anything about cars?

I think Top Gear is boring and predictable these days. I need presenters who really know what they're talking about and while Clarkson et al are smart, I don't think they take the time to do their homework properly.

.........top Gear mag 200th edition rates the mk 5 GTI as second best car of the last 20 years ,refinement,performance,practicality,comfort ,and for sensible money. In the real world this is near enough perfection!!!!!!.Only lost out to the Lambo Murcielago LP670-4SV.

seen the pic of clarkson with his Escort RS Turbo?  its in the top gear top 20.  classic  :grin:
