15s :D Nice n Light OZ Hydras ;D
-
15's as standard. :)
-
depends on what car dudes got... the stock 15s look tony on a mk3... 16s or 17s look better..
-
I wasn't recommending, I was saying I'm running 15's as standard. ;)
-
I ain't voted yet but will be 14" once these clunky oversized 15s come off ;)
woohoo it'll handle properly again soon :D
-
17's - the bigger the better!
Limits tyre choice tho. And mine are too wide. Gonna swap to my other set of 17x7's
-
17's on the scoob, 18's on the Fezza
-
15's - 7.5" front and 8" rear in the summer and a set of 15" sebrings off a rallye in the winter :P
-
16x7 League 065's shod with 205/45-16 Proxy T-1S's on my mk2 16v. looks great and handles like it is on rails. Fills the arches nicely.
-
Dunno wat size are ronal teddies :D
-
17" Audi TT alloys with 225/45/17 all round. 8)
-
Dunno wat size are ronal teddies? :D
13's i think. you should paint them pink though. ;D
-
14x8 front and 14x9 rears - handles like a go kart!

8) Can't find em though and thats wat I want for winter wheels :-*
And I'm serious - for trusty!!
-

I don't know about handling like a go kart
maybe as go kart'ish as a golf gets? :P
for go cart handleing you don't want a rim bigger than this? :D

only 24 people on here have wheels then ?? ;)
-
16`s on my mk2 and it handles like a bag of sh*t
-
18s on the mk4
-
17's. handles alright. would be better with new shocks :)
-
15" BBS alloys all round :D :D :D
-
I'm suprised at the fact that only one other person other than me has voted 14s? :o
come on theres got to be more than the two of us who enjoy a golf with the proper size wheels don't be embarassed? ;)
with 14s you get better handleing ,quicker acceloration due to the weight of the wheels ,cheaper tyres and longer lasting ball joints? :D
and only 29 people have wheels now :o

I might have voted 14's, but they are definatly not proper size (not at 9" wide)!
Got to agree on the handling though - its like it is on rails! handles far better than any car I have driven. The ride quality does suffer though - it is harsh!
Tyres, cheap? not when your run 215/40/14 they're not!!

no way can you get cheaper tyres for 14's, unless they are 185 14 60 or some sh!t like that, besides theres nothing wrong with 15's with 45 tyres on
-
BBS RM SPLIT RIMS ARE A MK2 MUST! 15INCH ALL THE WAY!!
-
^^^^
;) :D
-
BBS RM SPLIT RIMS ARE A MK2 MUST! 15INCH ALL THE WAY!!
BBS RS are even better!!!
and 15's with a decent profile tyre are about the same as a 14 witha regular profile trye. also with 14's you cant fit 280mm brakes.
and only 29 people have wheels now :o
does it annoy you that no-ones bothered to tell you what size wheels they use or something? ???
-
yeah i know rs are lighter than rm >:( :P
anyone know by how much ???
-
i didn't mean that they were lighter, i think they're f**kin heavy!!!!!!!
its just that rs are three piece which must make them better!!! ;D
-
Anyone got a pic of the rs alloy? Were they fitted to vw as standard??
-
i'll try and get some pics of mine, i'll have to upload them to my gallery though so may take a while til they get approved
-
may take a while til they get approved
not when i am paying attention ;D
-
ha ha thanks jv!
now how do i post them here? or just look at my gallery!
-
i seen somewhere that they are a bit lighter too apart from looking nicer ;D
-
actually, thinking about it, the golf has 14" alloys, and the others are on 15"s :-[ :D

have you weighed your heavy arsed 15s and a 14 ? ::)

so did vw fit the wrong sized wheels and tyres ? to the car they designed ... you know the hot hatch that they wanted the best for...
"does it annoy you that no-ones bothered to tell you what size wheels they use or something?"
nope not at all but it tells me something about this boards users ;) :P
-
what tyres do you run on your 14's that are cheaper than 15's then?
-
thers a 30 quid differnce for the 185/60 R14 Continental :o :P
at www.mytryes.co.uk ;)
-
so my 15's actually have a smaller diameter than you 14's then making them smaller :o
-
nope not at all but it tells me something about this boards users ;) :P
and what does it tell you? what size wheels we all have or that only 29 people have bothered to post an answer?! ;)
-
so my 15's actually have a smaller diameter than you 14's then making them smaller :o
true
but still heavier :P
-
but the extra weight is a small disadvantage (cos the difference is feck all) compared to the better cornering you get from a smaller tyrewall, so 15's win :P
-
15s all the way, although i really should drop down to a 45 profile
-
15s BBS RMs... tyres are black rubber ones ;D
