Came accross this today, anyone had the work done or heard from VW?

interesting... my car arrived Sep 11 so possible my car was right on the cusp of these build dates.  no word as yet from VW though.

I'm a Sept 1st delivery and have heard nowt as yet...do these things come from VW or the dealer?

Keep away from the DSG box.  I love mine but it seems VW make them from popcorn.
Never liked VW.  My GTI is ace but the company sucks.

Check out the Caddy vans with their DSG 'boxes :laugh:

Also the vosa site sucks - date formats are all American :rolleyes:

I do find it funny that people are now up in arms about the control unit failing its been known about for many years now. I know of a few who have had to have it replaced. Our works car did for one. I know my local DST refers to the box as Disaster Struck Gearbox, or Doesn't Select Gears box and has done for about 4+ years now!

Just to even it up and show no bias the manual box has a week spot too the dual mass flywheel.
