jus bought a polo1.4 16v open air for my girl. does anyone know the procedure to reset it

the lcd message on the dash ? if its the same as a mk4 golf then..

1) Turn ignition off
2) Hold down trip counter reset button
3) Turn ignition on
4) While still holding the reset button, turn the clock adjust knob clockwise and hold it.
5) Let go of the reset button first, then the clock adjust.

Might take a few tries.. not sure thats the -exact- sequence but fiddle around long enough it should dissappear. Can be a pain if you get the service reminder and engine inspection notice at the same time, as i found out  >:(
