rght, i attmpted to flush my cooling system on my mk3 gti, i removed the bottom radiotor pipe from the engine and let the coolant run out. then i re attatched the hose and filled the expantion tank with water and flush. ran it with the heaters on full then drained. but now i can only get two cup fulls of new coolant in?

Sound like an airlock??
-
airlock I would guess too... squeezy bottom rad pipe as you fill up and keep topping up

did mine today had a nightmare bleeding it found the easiest way i found was taking one of the hoses off that went into the heater until the water started coming round it was the left pipe i took off where they go into the car

right cheers i'll try that, im guessing the air is caught somewhere in the heater unit coz its only blowing cold air

follow rubjonny's guide in the link above and you wont go wrong
-
right ive blipped the engine, let air out the heater pipes, and the heaters are still blowing cold?
-
i did mine while it was running and waited till the water started coming through then pushed it back on and just moving the pipe slightly while its on so a bit of water seeps out mine were cold but after ive done that theyve never been so good im sure theres an easier way though
