Title: Door unlocking prob

98 Golf Gti 8v. Yesterday, when i went to unlock the car with the remote fob, the C/L operated normally, all the 'stems' on the doors popped up as they should do, and all the doors unlocked EXCEPT the drivers door! I manually unlocked it using the key instead. I've cycled the C/L several times since and sometimes it repeats this snag, sometimes not. Also i've discovered that when the door does not unlock via the C/L you can lock/unlock from the inside using the door stem and it then physically unlocks no problem. The door ALWAYS locks ok  using the remote C/L, so i don't think that its a pipework issue but not sure, hense here i am. Hope that all made sense...lol. Anyway any info/experience about this would be much appreciated, i've had a search and can't find anything to match this problem.

sounds liek you have an aftermarket kit and the actuator in the drivers door has packed in, have a look at the wiring to it, especialy the wiring between the door and body inside the rubber boot

Thanks for that info, i'll have to take the door trim off and have a look
