Title: gear linkeage advice needed

Hi all i have a mk2 16v on an 89, the gear linkeage is very sloppy can any one recommend a rebuild kit as there are so may on offedr and obviously some must be crap.  Any takers??

I think GSF do one and its not bad...

i got mine off ebay from tierod 69 and quality was ok and cost about £5 posted
when i went to gsf they didnt have the red ball in the cheap kit but the above one did

from the looks of it, this kit doesnt have the little plastic clips on the top of the gearbox, i cant really explain what i mean, there like little connectors for the little ball jointy type thingys, mine are all bust up and held together with cable ties mainly, does any one know where to find these on tinternet, or is it my local vw parts place i shud be irritating with my questions???

The same guy you got your kit from does them but they are in a kit that probably contains the bushes you have now.

hairy badger todger, o well ill just irritate vw service center then, ill get new oil pressure switches and temp senders aswell while im at it, and another oil breather gromit (my 4th in a year)

Tierod 69 was where I got mine too, dead helpful and have used him a few times.

Also meant to say you should perhaps try searching web for missing linkz?
