Title: can I cut my exhaust?
Post by: FOREST GREEN on 20 January 2010, 22:51
Its not as bad as it sounds, I've got a '96 8v that has the standard twin pipes. They are looking a bit ropey (the 2 ends of the exhaust) so I want to fit a chrome tail pipe trim (until I can afford to get a stainless back box). My question(s) are as follows......

1. I presume that the 2 end pipes come from a single pipe just passed the back box, can I cut them off there?
2. If so, can I replace the the 2 exit pipes with a 'letterbox' type exit?

Thanks

anything after the main part of the back box is purley asthetic so you can chop it if you wish

should be 2 pipes from the back box (single pipe to the box, then box and 2 pipes to rear)
