ok so when my cars cold is runs over like a bag of nails, cuts out if i dnt rev it a few times, smells like its over fueling until it warms up!!
but then in every gear around 2thousand revs it kangaroos
ive been told that it might be the cold start sensor or the throttle body?
ive got a throttle body but i could do with abit more info on the matter
can anyone help please?

Hi There
Have you tried turning the tickover up a nats so it runs a little quicker on tickover say 1000rpm, just had same issue and resolved it this way, it now starts and ticks over from cold with no probs.
-
what car have you got ???
-
no ive tryed that jus cuts out....
its a gti 8v digi 90 spec... been looking into it and it sounds like the warm up regulator (wur) has gone, so gna try giv that a try
then get all the fuel (tick over) set up

doesnt have one dude, I'd say check over all your vac pipes and rubber boots for splits, check the pcv valve bung in the rocker cover too they like to split inside the lip.
If that checks out set it up as per my digi faq. if it still does it new blue temp sensor from VW.

your right... from what i looked on the net lastnight an looking at my engine its not there.
wel ive changed the blue temp sensor, the rad, cleaned the vac pipes, the bung on the rocker cover an the thing to the left of it which i believe controls the tick over? checked for splits cant see anything it is over fueling really bad but only when cold, thats why i was thinking the auto choke wasnt kickin in.
somebody said change the throttle body, if they get worn that can corse it aswel, he gave me one so its worth a try?
-
worth a go i guess, just make sure its a digi one like yours and not a 16v or k-jet one. needs to have 2 switches on it, idle switch underneath and full throttle on the top.

yeah well its got to wait now....just left work an some ones keyd the drivers side of my car!! think it might of been an away fan  so now got to start rubbing that down
