Title: Halfords touch up kits
Post by: naturn007 on 19 January 2010, 19:21
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of halfords touch up kits.  They have the right colour code 3 piece touch up kit.  (Dragon green).

So I was wondering if any body has used them, and what they are like.

Cheers guys

I used one on my Pug 106 and used the same colour as my car however once I applied it it was much darker. If you do get one try it on  some paper or something first, let it all dry properly and then check the colour match against the paint on your car.

Good advice, I will try that first.

Doesn't the advice on these usually say to try it on somwhere not noticeable first eg in the boot or inside a door maybe?

ive had some experience and i dont recomend them at all! very fiddly colours dont quite match but thats a given! better off dependant on size of area needing to be done to get it done proffessionally or just live with it! IMO of course.

depends on your paint code for dragon breen as mine was but there are 2 or three colours for dragon green if i remember and i had some paint made up with my code at halfrauds and once home and sprayed grill and reflectors it was alot darker aand that was with the correct primer.

so it up to you on touch up kit but dragon green is nit accurate enough for the possible different coulours of green at halfords.

but then gain as in other post it depends how bad you want it gone as i had scratch in bonnet but after the paint i got i just t cut it alot.
