other than using mk4 style headlights...
im sure i heard that you just drill a hole in the them, but i could be wrong..
or was i thinking of the run lights in the indicators?? lol

Lol, i got the MK4 style headlights.. and i drilled a hole into one of them (that was the biggest pain in the arse in the world!!!!)

But obviously the bulbs that are in the front are massive.. i bought some of the smaller bulbs and the little converter that plugs in.. but it flashes really fast so i gave up! lol

i'd wait to see what other advice, i just wing it with electrics, lol

I would assume that is correct.. as the bulb is alot smaller using alot less power so.. yeah..

lol, see winging it :D
maybe the trick is finding the right bulb... but that may be a task in itself!
cant remember who has done it on here!!

if the only prob is the wrong wattage bulb you should be able to wire a resistor in series to sort that out@?

To be completly honest.. i would not know how to do that...

I would guess the problem is the headlamps are not designed to do what you did.

How have you wired them.

well there is a 'spare'hole there where they are replicas of the mk4.

you know the crappy universal side repeaters you get from motorworld? got one of those which plugged straight into the original slot in the front indicator and the plugged the bulb in. it worked... but... it was flashing fast where the bulb is a hell of alot smaller!

Simple problem, bulbs are too small, you need to run the standard bulbs, side repeaters will not do the job and are too low a wattage, from memory they are only 5w.

the Standard bulbs will no where near fit into the headlights.. they are huge...

Hence why I said they are not designed to do what your trying to do, standard bulbs are 21w each, you have now switched to a pair of bulbs which total 10w.

The only idea I can suggest is to have a look at some of motorbike led ones on ebay which should cure the problem.

that is not a bad idea.. so i basically need to get 2 orange bulbs that are 10.5w each?

RESISTOR.......

wire a resistor into the plus side of the circuit to the bulb

you need a resistor that converts whatever the wattage should be down to 5..  ebay it, they are cheep as hell
