Title: rev limiter seems to be coming in early?
Post by: WeeTel on 16 January 2010, 22:16
hi to all you.

i have been on a while. just took me 2 months to get my car through mot here in northern ireland.
god they are sticky.
New Tyres, Exhaust, new floor, new sills, new brake lines, not to mentio the usual service, air flow meter etc.

anyway enough of my ranting.

i seem to have a problem when i put the foot down in most gears, as it the limiter is kicking in around 4000 - 4500 rpm.

is this anything that any of you have come across.
thanks for your help in advance.

oh by the way, you do forget how they handle til you get back into it, now im legal. lol

Usually the valve timing, have you changed the belt if it;s out will be in safe mode, never knew afm was part of a serviuce normally gets replaced if faulty, is it a new one you have fitted?

As above, timing issue and it is safe mode.

I will say check the timing but if that's fine you need vag-com as a sensor failure can also brings safe mode on!
