is it me or what? i was not totally amazed by this experience...fair enough i couldnt drive it like a lunatic but i expected some blistering performance has anyone else here test drove the car or bought one...my expectations were high to say the least....i will wait till i can drive the v6 :( a month waiting for the test drive and very dissapointed
if anyone out there has some good feedback on a new or nearly new model golf be it a gti or a v6 let me know
-
not driven one but had a little race with the gti (non turbo) in me mk2 gti 8v and i wee'd all over it! Think the mk4 was shocked after flashing his lights at me! Up for a race? Yup! Didnt see much of him after that! lol
-
We have a 4 motion and we are bored of it already, rather jump into either one of the Mk2's anyday ;D
The MK2 goes better and feels better

Soz chaps. Got a 180 in may this year.
Its been my first turbo so can't really say if its alot quicker than the 150 (mk4).
When i can afford it though may get it revo'd. That should take it to between 210 and 220 bhp. Will you be able to tell the difference then eh? Was told thats its just about as quick as a V6 (0-60 in 7.5).
Took the father in law out in it and he about sh!t himself mind you!!! :D

I also have a MK4 GTI 20v Turbo and have raced several MK2 gti 8v's and 16v's and I have to say it wasn't long befor they appeared a mere blip in the rear view mirror ;D
Sorry benjam_in, but unless you have something a little special under your bonnet I think your exaggerating ;)

if you read i said it was a non turbo! im sure a turbo would open a small can of whoop ass on my car! so wasn't really over exagerating now was i??

Ive got to say the mk2 16vs that sijunior has beaten must have been driven by old ladys or something. My mates 20v turbo mk4 is a bit of a motorway car, not that fast from the lights its to heavy.
-
MK2 16v's are not that quick off the lights mate in fact I had to put up more of a fight with an 8v,
Sorry Benjam_in, I read it to quickly and didn't take it all in ;)
