so the front and rear fogs would be on at the same time?
pulled the h'light switch out to get the rears......

No it is a 2 postion switch.
-
 click it right for sides and normal lights....... do u pull it out twice aswell?
sorry for the dumb question, its my 1st vw :embarassed: lol
-
pull out once for fronts (if you have them) then pull out again for the rears
thiers 2 leds, green for fronts and yellow for rears, if yours is rears only it will just have the one led and logo on the switch
and you fog lamps on the bumper will look like mine in my sig, but clear not smoked (notice the projector, non foglight cars just have a reflector here)
-
projector being the very middle bits on the bumper?
if so don't think mine has em...... might have to fit some then

If you look at Kells car in the pic, the lights in the bumper closest to the number plate are the fogs.
-
as wayne says mate..
easy to fit if you decide to upgrade
you need the fog lights, switch and loom, the loom replaces the one thats already their on your car, it just has extra plug son it for the fogs, attaches to the loom at the top of the rad, (sounds a mare but its real easy to do mate)
-
the front fog switch is different to the rear only switch, and its not fitted unless the car came with fogs from the factory. as above 1st click = front fogs, 2nd click = front + rear fogs
-
cheers for the help will be on the look out for front fog bits.......if anyone knows of any?
-
if it looks like mine then there blanks dude
-
changing mine over as soon as i get my donor car on sat!!tidy
-
just found this....but is it right? looks the same as mine and mine has only 1 click for rears?

that isthe rear only switch
tell tale sign is the little logo with the led at the bottom (led that illuminates when the fogs are turned on), if it has front fogs it will have another little logo and led next to that one,if this makes any sense
-
cheers kells, think you said that before which made me wonder. back to the search
-

those would fit mate
you just need to source the middle section (called toe eye covers) these are about 18 quid each at the dealer, or find some on the bay, note some replica parts are not as good fit, you also need to get the smoked indicators, about 18 quid each at dealer or again EBAY, theirs replicas that people pass off as genuine and they are not but as long as the price is right and your happy mate
your single piece items on the car at the mo are no good to combine with a REAL fog light set up
-
TOES EYE COVERS, says genuine, not sure if they are but if they are its a bargain
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pair-of-genuine-tow-eye-covers-VW-Golf-MK3-Vento_W0QQitemZ120519091724QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c0f7f660c
SMOKED INDICATORS, again says genuine, dont think they are but again if so a bargain

think i'll keep my eye out for a full set..........would they be hard to tint a normal set, anyone ever done it?
-
a full genuine set will be hard to find inless you head to the main dealer.(but then would cost you)
i was lucky to find a full genuine set at a autojumble at a show last year.
would be tricky to self tint as they are sealed. . some have done it tho i believe
-
self tint can be done but will never lookas good
iv got a spare set of genuine used smoked anniversary fogs, indicators and toe eye blanks
offers

Pop the bonnet, there's a round black plastic connection block clipped to the slam panel above the radiator. Pull it out, and twist it round, this will disconnect the two halves. Unplug the indicators, headlights and anything else attatched to the loom, then unclip all the wiring from the various clips around the slam panel and it should come away iirc
Refitting is reverse of removing obviously
-
just as joe says, its a half hour job (less if u dont want to make the wires so tidy like i wolud ), easy
-
mine was brand new in a box dude
-
25 is good for brand new
they cost about £75 at dealers
