Title: Has The Snow Broke Anything On Your Mk4?
Post by: Grand Master Patch on 08 January 2010, 21:11
Has anyone had anything falling off or breaking due to the amount of snow/ice on the roads?

To date,i've lost half my front splitter and the centre grill in my bumper, arch linings are hanging off and i'm pretty sure an R32 arch liner extension has gone missing

Going to raise my car at least 50mm tomorrow.

i've lost half my front splitter

Thats exactly why ive walked to work all week as my car is low at the front and the height of the snow/ice here will just rip it off.

hit a kerb, took a bit out of an RC

being fully looked at tomorrow morning but its done 60 miles this week since that and no odd sounds, creaks or groans and it seems to track pretty true   :smug:

Votex valence does a fine job of stand in snow plow too

The window froze to the door without me knowing, tried to wind the windows down and heard the motor make a funny noise and the window didnt open but the motor must have moved the runners down.

Thought nothing of it till i was driving today and the car started to get nice and hot and the window fell inside the door

Luckily it had just seperated itself from the runners but hadnt broke the clips

BLOODY SNOW

Keep getting grounded on the ridges left by 4x4 drivers.  When that ices up its like hitting speed bumps flat out.  Been beached twice, off the road three times and stuck twice also ha ha All down to ride height.  Ice drift removed front R32 grill and bashed in the bumper and zorst is blowing.  All in a week work

Well, it turns out my car is low enough that the front valance is getting stuck in the snow!  :undecided:

Ditto this, although i havn't yet got my door card off to see if it's the clips to be honest. iv'e garaged it until the weather is better and am now having trouble using the lambo.
Oh no im not, it's my dads astra, which incidently, he claims go's like a lambo.

Another broken window here, gf wanted to talk to her mate and instead of getting out of the car, yep she hit the button to only be confronted with a loud grinding noise and the window stay firmly in place, so held up with tape till the morning
