Title: What is the difference between a mk2 8v & 16v axel?
Post by: MK4_20VT on 20 October 2004, 07:38
My Dad past me all the receipts for my mk2 8v last nite & one of the many mods done is my rear axel has been swapped for a 16v mk2 ???

It came off a 89 model mk2, the only reason I can think of the change is that the rear calipers are different.

Anyone else had this done, this has got me???

i'm told that the integrated rear ARB in the 16v beam is thicker

there would be no point in swapping a whole beam just for rear calipers!!

only reason a beam is swapped is if its bent!
