Title: Maintaining the TDI
Post by: smiiithy on 08 January 2010, 15:32
I intend to look after my Golf better than my Clio. It's just been serviced but other than that what else should I be doing to keep my baby in tip top shape? Should things like coolant etc be done within the service?

Cheers,

Mike

This is what I do

Every 10K
Oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter

Every couple of years
Renew brake fluid
Renew coolant

Every few years
Aircon regas maybe

Urm thats it really! Just replace things as they break / wear out e.g tyres brakes, etc

Simples

Best thing to do about the timing belt is look on the box under your hood that has the belt in, there should be a sticker on the box.  Look for the code, mine was just 3 letters.  Ring the dealer, give the code and they will tell you when it would be due.
