My GTD arrived at the weekend and here is a picture of her. The quality isn't great because took it on my iPhone and the delay was because of the obvious crappy weather.

OMG!!

Not bad for a diesel!
-
Yummy - nice contrast on the wheels!
Come to think of it, that's the first white GTD i've seen.
-
Nice ! Alloys are much nicer than the ones VW have on offer for the GTD. :smug:
-
Ooof that looks nicer than the white GTIs!!!
They real LM's?
Nick
-
That looks beautiful! The alloys are much better than the standard VW wheels.
I just got my new GTi yesterday, black and am already having second thoughts about whether i should have went for white. Health to enjoy.
-
Thanks guys!
The gunmetal in the wheels matches the grey on the bymper and mirror surrounds which looks great.
Sadly they are just LM copies. At £570 for the 4, they are cheaper than 1 genuine rim! The only downside is that LMs look smaller than they are. They are 8.5 x 19s.
I might tint the front windows a bit and that is her finished.
I got the dealer to fit the springs before I collected it at the weekend.
This weather is killing me though!

Thanks. I am sure the black is fun to keep clean in this weather!

I am glad you guys said that and not me, prepare to get abuse from the GTI drivers! (I do agree with you though).

Lovely Jubley
How much did the springs lower the car by? Any pics with it side on?

They were supposed to lower the front by 25mm and the rear by 20mm but it looks like it has dropped around 35mm at the front and 30mm at the rear.
I don't have any other pics yet but I was going to give it a proper clean at the weekend and get decent photos taken. I will try to get a side on view taken later today on the phone though.

I was going to say how impressed I am with the car too. It is all the little things that make this car so bloody brilliant.
My mate got an Edition M3 and we were looking at the cars last night. I think the Golf got more attention!
I had an X5 with a rear view camera that was exposed and only stayed clean on dry days. VW have hidden the camera in the golf and it is always perfect. It is little things like this that make the difference.
The way the adaptive xenons work is great. I thought both lamps turn at the same time but they don't. They both work independently of each other and this is class for country roads.
The touch screen head unit and the way the iPod works is the best ever. I can search by artist and jump to any name I want instead of having to scroll through every artist. Although this is small, it makes such a massive difference. I get to listen to ZZ Top in seconds!
I have been lucky enough to own some nice cars in my time but this could be the nicest...

...Well, let's be honest, the soundtrack could be better, but that's it by the sounds of it!

Thanks! Is your GTI standard height? I considered red but I have never had a white golf and thought I would take the plunge.

Yeah, I went for Dynaudio and it is top notch. Well worth the money! The note off the diesel actually sounds quite good. OK, it isn't a petrol but the sound of the diesel engine is nothing like the MK4 I owned.
Not everyone will like the wheels but I am happy so I guess that is what matters.
As for the M3, it is absolutely awesome!
-
My black GTi is deadly to keep clean in this weather and if it persists it wont be washed for another week
-
LMs are the way forawrd ;)
That loooks the total sex ! I love it ! Congrats matey ;)

Yes standard height on 19s,
quite happy as it is and the look as there are 100s of speed bumps around here and not worth dropping, or i would have to plan my routes
I considered white but went back to Red

That is feckin' sex on legs! :afro:

Looks stunning.

Thanks again for all the comments. I will get good pics up at the weekend when I get it properly cleaned and maybe when some of this snow and ice clears!
-
Looking forward to seeing those pics!
-
Very nice car, looking forward to seeing more pictures
-
Superb  Sits well on the Eibach springs too. The best looking Mk6 I've seen.
-
Your car is gorgeous.

I'm doing my best but it isn't easy!
Sorry about the poor pics again. I don't have my good camera so these were only on the iPhone.
The lack on sunlight didn't help either!
-
Too be honest, sunlight may have made the pictures blinding, but that still looks amazing in the dull weather. :afro:
-
Eibach pros or sportlines ? There's a bit too much daylight under the arches of my mk6...
I believe they are sportlines. I was told they would lower the car 25mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. I think it could have been dropped around 35mm at the front and 30mm at the rear

I will get good pictures when I get the camera back and when the sun returns.

Very nice!! not usually a fan of LM's but they go well.... dare I say the rear looks better than the GTI :lipsrsealed:

I have had many BBS wheels in the past and the LMs were the last on the 'to do' list. (OK, they are copies but it's the thought that counts).
I like the way the GTD simply has a GTD badge on the back, no GOLF badge in sight!
-
Great looking car
-
Seeing pics like these makes me wanna call someone and say really bloody loudly 'where's my phucking car?'
-
Your car just gets better the more I see it ;)
Did you tint your rear reflectors?
-
Sorry to be the killjoy but IMO I'm not that keen on the wheels as they look too aftermarket for my tastes. Not really a fan of black wheels anyway, so clearly these aren't aimed at me.
On the plus side, the silver grill works well against candy white and great job cleaning it!

Thanks. No tints on the reflectors though!

That is fair enough. I think BBS wheels look great on any German car. They do look a lot lighter in real life. They are gunmetal centres which match the gunmetal in the lower front bumper and mirror surrounds.

Each to their own, of course. I think the contrast is excellent, especially on white cars.

Whisper it, but I think it might be the nicest MKVI I've seen yet... shame it runs on taxi juice... Kidding!!!! [Flame suit, on!!]

I am of the same opinion, not many modded MK6s out there but them wheels set it apart. Again shame its runs on the devils juice tho ;) :D :D

Imagine if it looked like that, but had a 3.2 v6 underneath!
-
I'm quite happy with the diesel engine!
-
that is one stunning car...
Did you by any chance own an Anni at some point? Recognise the reg.

Would it be a red MK4 anniversary you mean in the Carrick area?
