Title: Coolant parts from VW
Post by: jamie_pyrite on 06 January 2010, 23:30
Hi all, just a quick couple of questions!

How much is a new 90 spec header tank from VW? I've been offered one for £17 but don't know how much they are from VW.

Do VW still sell the coolant pipe that goes from the header to the radiator. It's a thin pipe covered in cloth. Mine is knackered!

Thanks :D

I don't remember mine being too expensive, I'll try and remember to dig out the receipt later. Although I got mine a couple of years ago!

If it is the later more ball-like expansion tank then VW still do them. £30 + VAT 1H0 121 407A I believe.

The small bore pipe from the expansion tank to the rad is off a roll not a separate item so you will have to buy 5m? Better to get it from GSF or similar.

Cheers.

11.75+vat from vw spares for a febi one.

Just fitted a vw spares pre90 one to mine, but not tested its explodability yet though!

I had a pre-90- VWS one on my cabby, pile o crap it was. leaked round the level sensor hole, both with a brand new level sensor from avs, and the old one. in the end i put the old tank back on and it was perfect!
