Title: What Should I Look Out For When Buying Mk4 GTI 1.8T
Post by: moosekat on 05 January 2010, 16:13
Hi Guys,

Well I think I am going to take the plunge and buy a Golf GTI. My Budget (£3000) will hopefully get me a nice Mk4 2000 1.8T. What shall I look for when I am looking at buying one? I will get an HPI check, but do you think it is worth getting an AA check done aswell? Is it stll a case that a GTI only gets good over 100K miles? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I cant wait as I remember my Dads first 2 cars were a Mk1 GTI and then a Mk2 GTI (still my favorite car!!!)

Thanks

Nick

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. One other thing, how reliable are Golfs? Sorry to ask this, but I have just finished a VERY bad relationship with a Renault Scenic (family car), who decided to break down on me at every given moment.

Thanks again

Nick
