Post by: simonkit on 05 January 2010, 11:04

Another newbie question I'm afraid !!

Picking up a GTI tomorrow which has the standard 17" alloys, is it worth buy a set of MCgard locking nuts & fitting them in addition to the standard ones?

 thanks

IMO change the standard VW locking nuts to the McGard ones and not use both at the same time.

As above just run the mcgards ones.

I would be interested in a set of these. Does anyone know where to get these from?

If you are going along this path, go for the ultras and not the standard ones.

Thanks guys...just bought a set off Ebay, the "SL" ones. I did contact Demon Tweeks who are closeby but they needed 6 weeks for delivery

My two penths worth - Running 2 sets just increases the risk of needing to do this to your wheel bolts if they sheer the key elements
