Title: Remote Central Locking.
Post by: p0bber on 18 October 2004, 15:03
I just got a remote central locking kit from Volksbits (thanks Dizzie fr pointing me in the right direction there).  However I'm a bit stuck with how to fit it.  I already have c/l so do i just somehow wire the receiver unit into the pump in the boot or do i stil have to connect al the wires to each door lock?  I'm beginning to think perhaps a visit to the auto electric place may be in order but would prefer to do it myself.  Anyone any clues?

Cheers

Did the kit come with instructions?

I would guess you only need to wire the reciever into the circuit that activates the whole shebang.

Have you got a wiring diagram for the central locking?  If not i can scan one from my haynes manual for you.  Chances are you only need to connect the reciever to the wiring on the pump.

Volksbits are crap! Bought front indicator light assembly from there. They sent me some cheap sh!t off ebay which didn't match the picture, looked incredibly chavvy, and didn''t even fit properly !
I went to vagparts.co.uk for my remote central locking. £90 genuine vw part. Just plug into existing loom in boot. Fitted in 5 mins. Job done.
