Title: Locked out of car URGENT
Post by: Gal on 03 January 2010, 21:01
Picked car up yesterday and was told it wouldnt lock or unlock from the drivers side, but would from the passenger. Fair enough. I found that it wouldnt lock the nearside rear though, so push the button down on that and locked it up earlier. Gone to unlock it tonight from the passenger side and all I can hear is the pump making a noise but it wont unlock. I'm stuck out the car. Is there any way I can get in though?

Anyway I can drain the battery so as to turn the central locking off? Its not on a remote fob or anything

Try a house brick....usually works for me!!!!!!!   Other way is to call out the AA/RAC/Green Flag if you have cover??

Oh Dear!!!!!!  Has the rear hatch had the wiper removed??  If so there is a way of getting it open through this. If not you will need a long cable tie. Close the tie until it's the size of say a 10p coin. Put the loop through the door (Near the top). Slide it down the door frame until you can loop it over the pin then pull it tight around the pin and try to pull the pin up with the cable tie. This could be very fiddly and take some time. Not many options left though. You should really have breakdown cover....they could get into the car in less than a minute for what is really pennies. I pay £13 a month for personal cover.  Let me know     Cheers     Deano

Did the estates have a wiper? There isnt one there but a plastic cover about 8cm to 10cm round on the back?

Remove this cover and you should be able to get your finger in and though I have never done this have seen a few people on here that say you can pull the bar for the bootlid and pop open the bootlid easily. Everyone says they are surprised how easy it is.  Good Luck and keep me informed.      Cheers     Deano

No way in through the back. What I thought was a way in is smoothed over :(

The lock pin on the passenger side does go up and down with the key but thats all. I've joined the RAC but for the 1st 24hours I cant call them out as its at home. SO early tomorrow morning they will be getting a call out

Got in on my own. Found a trick on youtube

Am not playing about with the pump or whatever till tomorrow now. Wish I had a heated garage
