Well today my coilovers arrived and i got them fitted on the rear! Then got too cold and wet to do the front! Couple of questions...on the rear topmounts how tight should the nuts be i did them as tight as i could..2nd question, do i need the top plate from the old shocks that fits under the arch? Cos i havent!? And third question on the front suspension what size are the 2 nuts/bolts which attach the shock to the brake area? And finally how do i measure to see how far im lowering!? I apologise for no pics im at work on my phone!

The top plates should be supplied with the coilovers.

As long as the nuts are tight and won't come undone when you're driving along then they'll be safe enough
As Wayne said, the top plates would have come with the coilovers. Rears are already built up anyway so all you need to do is swap the rubber bushes over
I do believe the lower suspension bolts are 18 or 19mm, good luck getting the top nut off though :grin:

Yeah the coilovers came with the little silver plates att the top of the springs so i guess these are right just wondered if the old ones should be used ontop of the ones supplied as the ones supplied were smaller in diameter but seem to fit okay! Yeah the nuts i tightened i did tight so there okay, but what rubber bushes need to be replaced :s!? Ahh front should be okay then its just a case of setting it to the right height! Cheers for the help! And if anyone wants to come over to help then thats fine lol we can go to the pub after :p

I'm miles from you haha I'm near Aldeburgh. Erm when you took the old suspension off there should have been a rubber bush that goes between the top mount and the car itself. You would have had to remove them from the old suspension legs and slide them onto your coilovers.

Items 1, 18, 8, 7 10 and 5 will be on your new shock, the rest needs to go together as above.

yep got the rubber bushes, and got item number 5 from the old shock so ill put that on the new shock as ive left it off atm :embarassed: item number 5 is giving me some hassle as when i put that on the top f the shock it means not enough thread comes through at the top actaully in the car where the bushes and top mounts are is there a technique or should it just slide in like usual?
Ill attack it again tommorrow and hopefully will have some better luck!

You don't need number 5, the one on the coilover replaces it.

Under where the subframe bolts, look under the car just behind the wheel.
