Hi there folks !
I have lowered my VR a fair bit, its on 17' audi tt comps with 205/35/17 rubber ( spec 2s !), i am now finidng the arches are scrubbing a little at the front,
what the maximum lowering amount that people tend to find is ok without arch work
i may just dremel the lip off the arches yet
-
I was running mine around 60mm drop and would catch now and again, TT comps are 32 offset which will not help.
Why not have the lips rolled.
-
ill whip it up a little bit untill i can be bothered getting it done lol, cheers
-
dude i seriously lowered my car and shagged my 2 front tyres as when i put it on full lock it was scrpping against the 3 rivets holding on the arch kit :oS,in the end took the arch kit off and going for the euro look(if i can ever find some door mouldings.lol)
-
More to point, why would anyone want to lower it that much?
It can't be very comfortable
-
yep mine is,girlfriend said she needs to wear a sports bra to get in my car.lol
-
More like a neck brace
-
lol,well yer that to dude.lol
-
was really just seeing what it was like, my cossie would never be put through such a thing.
im going to do the arches myself, like the slammed look

Trust me, I was running 85mm front and 70mm rear drop and it was a nightmare.
-
so there's no speed bumps in your area then
-
Slammed on 17s with a VR is more complicated than you think. On a Gti you could simply get a set of 60mm springs and drop and have the occasional rubbing but for some reason on a vr probably due to engine weight it rubs like a bastard.

I never really had a problem with speed bumps, just took it very slow.
-
oh man im gonna put a vr lump in mine soon.fun fun fun.lol
-
mines pretty low, have to go over speed bumps every day, exhaust braket near the cat catches as does the front splitter, the way to do it is go over them on a angle, mine is not a bad ride, firm but not too bad...
dont take long to get used to it, wont make a difference what lump is under the hood either
only prob u have with a vr lump is the sump hanging low
