Title: im back- with a problem!
Post by: sean26 on 28 December 2009, 17:09
i sold my mk3 gti and bought a 1.6 mk1 cab. a few days after owning it, i couldnt start it from warm. it went down hill untill it wouldnt run at all. so a trip to the garage and turned out the carb was shot! (pierburg2e2) so i got another for next to nothing and in good working order. so i swopped them over and replaced all the vacuum pipes and all good! until it gets warm. now it will stall when hot unless i have a bit of throttle. any ideas as the choke works fine, and the carb as it should. its just when it gets hot and the thermostat opens it dies!!
