Hey guys, I'm in a terrible dilemma in deciding which car to get. Thus I kindly seek your opinions and suggestions. I've narrowed down to a few listed below.
1) 06 or 07 R32
2) MK 5
3) Evo 9
4) WRX or STI
Needless to say my heart's leaning towards the R32 more followed by the MK 5. If the MK6 was up I'll take it for sure in a heart beat!
Now, option 3 and 4 yield more BHP but nowhere near the luxuries. of option 1 and 2! My gut and heart tells me the R32 is better! I'm really lost and confused! help me pls! LOL
I'll take every comment, view and criticism with a pinch of salt and open mind as we all feel and have different views on stuff.Thanx alot guys! appreciate it very much!

I would get an R32 all the day long over those other car's on the list. take one for a test drive brilliant or get Ed30 FWD drive though!! :cool:enjoy Steve ed30

Evo & WRX are yobs' cars

Thanx Steve. I was thinking the same as well. but the edition 30 here is unavailable. I'm sick of jap cars.
Mr Frog, pardon me but, what's "yob's car's" ?

When I was about to buy my last car I also had a tough decision between the GTI and R32. I ended up with the R32 and never looked back. That was the car that I really wanted even though the GTI offered better fuel economy, almost as fast etc. If your heart says R32 I think you should buy it, after all, what would be the reason to buy e.g. the GTI?

Cars that appeal to yobs, boy racers, BarryBoys and alike. Whether or not you are a yob (and I'm sure you aren't ) is irrelevant: drive a WRX or an Evo and everyone will think you are :lipsrsealed:

The car for you is all down to what your prioritys are and what you value most?
In my teens and early twentys i would have gone for the WRX/STI more than likley as refinment, quiet ride were way down my list of what i wanted. Hell at that time of my life my family even ran subaru dealerships  just the insurance went X when i asked. Its the reason that i went for the mk1 golf over the mk2, more fun to drive less refinment.
EVO even more hardcore than the scoobys but take alot of looking after great fun, lots of smiles, but no good on a long distance run.
Mk5 R32 i found too refined i was going far too fast at stupid speeds before any fun factor happened, its why i did not buy one of the last 30% off run out models.
Mk5 GTI i found more fun than the R32 it just seemed that little bit more horned.
As i said its all down to what you want in a car.

R32 all day long
its also that last of a dying breed and will hold its value well.

its value slumped about this time last year, which coincided with the sudden rise in fuel prices. the vaule of my old one was about £13k.. 6 months later it was listed as just under £18k.
the usual government scare tactics and hike in fuel prices + recession meant many had to sell and very quickly. Hence a few going for quite cheap. Those that sat tight are laughing now.

There are times when i really wish i had bought one of the last knockdown price Mk5 R32s so much less hassle.

Thanx a lot guys for your honest reviews, comments and opinions.
Well I'll be honest with you guys, the reason I see myself leaning towards the R32 is because of its 4WD and 3.2L V6. And I can imagine what a remap will do to it. The reason for those choices of cars is because all of them are almost on par with the pricing for a used vehicle.
My next choice would be the MK5.
I've got like 10 to 15 used MK5's on the 2nd hand car sales market, compared to only 3 R32's. The R32 is much more rare here. Therefore if I could own one, it'll be like WOW WTF!!!
Ironically, just recently there's a used MK6 on sale. Pretty shell shocked since it just only released. But the price is not better then from the dealer. Which is monstrous. lol!
If you wish to check them out, you can at this url.

There's where almost all the cars in my country are advertised for sale, used and brand new.
Car prices here are exorbitant.

A remap on the r32 will give 4-6bhp if your lucky.

Agreed. Don't waste your money.

Sadly I found out that the R32 has got no turbo
I'm truly disappointed now! I was thinking it was turbo'ed!
Well, in my place here, if you're caught with a turbo or supercharger in your car when its factory NA, the car will be confiscated. And you will get a jail term and a hefty fine as well.
So the only way I can "live" happily is to get a Turbo'ed car.
Sadly, it seems that the R32 is out now.
Next up, MKV.
But its damn hard to fine an Edition 30 or a Pirelli one here.

Dude you're probably gonna get more responses in the mkv section.

Personally out of your list I would go for an R32 as well, but that's cos I want refinement (and hence why I have a mkvi now!)

lol I know! I had to post here as well because I know that many don't go out of their own model thread haha!
Do you suppose it'll be better to get the mk5 and do it up to a stage 2 or maybe stage 3 to getting a new mk6? What are your thoughts and opinion on this?

I prefer the interior of the Mk6 more
