Hi guys ive ripped my splitter off in the snow ive now got one off ebay are they anygood as its not an original
-
they're fine as long as you don't hit em on anything. the plastic they use is brittle and cracks and breaks easily. vw use stronger stuff that's designed to take a beating without cracking or bits breaking off.

Be carefull some fit very poor.

Both valid points, and like you, I cocked mine up in the snow so ordered another 'replica' off ebay.
I had to originally chop a way few of the teeths to fit mine, but its a nice flush fit and easy to remove when I need to take my car on to a ramp or something at a car garage so im not complaining ...

Correct. VW used Talc Filled Polypropylene (Plastic) for the lower splitter, this makes the plastic alot stronger and allows more movement etc without any brittleness.
Where the aftermarket ones were used in cheap re processed polypropylene (plastic) which is brittle, because the reprocessed plastic looses its main properties after its been reprocessed... i.e structure loss.
