Cheers, that was my first road legal car, so only a little 1.4

The wheels were BSA 214 Livewires

Sold the car to my mate for £1600, it was then stolen, the wheels/exhaust/ICE were stolen out of it and then the car was torched

Looks a good height

Yea hacked off is an understatement but it was good for me because I had ANOTHER 1.4, which I was bored of, so he bought it off me for £1400. That means I got £3k for 2 1.4 Golfs

lol yea he's still driving around in it at the moment. I looked after it so much and he's totally messed it up, looks terrible now :(

Don't miss it though. Well apart from the Recaros and the electric sunroof

whats this set up? 60/40? may get coilies but would rather have decent springs than cheap coilovers  :undecided:

^^ That's lower than 60/40

60/40 on 15's will leave massive arch gap

Arch gap = fail

im not sure what the drop is just wound the coillies down until the ride was rough enough to cope with lol.  if i remember the back is about 5-10mm higher.  collies are the way forward.  lowering springs are ok if you replace shocks with them aswell.  otherwise the shocks will be compacted all the time and give up the ghost in no time.

yeah 60/40 = gay

need to be lower than that or you WILL have nasty arch gap

blue car looks high on back end tho to me... too high

Spot on, cheap coilovers are horrid, I would never use them again.

I will be lowering mine soon too. I have to change my tyres first for the proper ones then need something that ideally fills the archs but also need practical as I use the car daily and have a missus and two kids to think of as well!!!!!  Any suggestions anyone what I should look to get??     Cheers     Deano

Id love some decent ones but the jamex at 170 a pop are too tempting plus i only bought the car for 300 so not spendin loads on it tbh coilovers and keeping it clean will do for me!
