Title: Advice: MK3 Driver's seat replacement for race-style seat
Post by: simon44 on 23 December 2009, 16:32
Hi,

The drivers seat in my car is tired and needs replacing and I'm considering replacing it with a lighter weight racing style bucket seat. I've started by looking on the demon tweeks website to get an idea of whats out there and have come across:

Sparco Chrono Sport Seat - £280
Sparco F104 Speed Seat - £190
Corbeau Apex Seat - £345
Recaro Furious - £340

Has anyone tried any of these out? Are there any suggestions? Has anyone made this type of mod and loved it/regretted it?!

Many thanks for your help.

Simon

Standard GTI front seat and frame weighs 20 kgs if that helps at all.

I'd say get to a shop and sit in them.. i had corbeau forza sports and they were very comfy.. i have sat in some cobras that had solid bases and killed me after 20miles.. and other cobra's that were like sitting on a cloud..
