Title: Ads Storm
Post by: AdamB on 15 October 2004, 10:56
Hey Guys.
Those of you at Newark, got to see my new toy, and some where told about my trip to AmD the following tuesday.
I got down there early on the morning and left the car to the capable hands of the AmD mechanics, for its Ram Air Induction kit, Milltek Exhuast and re-map. Whilst I was sat in the waiting room, I thought I would ask what would be the next stage of tuning they would recommend. After a few suggestions were made, I asked if they had anything in stock. I was told they had the larger throttle body in, so I thought I might as well have that fitted too.
So I am now the rather proud owner of a sweetly tuned Corrado VR6 Storm, running a over 200BHP on the rolling road. However, AmD also informed me that the engine is still quite tight, so I should expect an increase as it continues to run itself in.
So having gone down the "modding road of appearance", on the Cab. I have now been bitten by the "modding road of power" thanks to AmD and my Corrado.
Standby for further updates and tuning.

Son-in-law had a Vr6 Corrado that had been chipped/mapped by Amd and the results on that one was 205 bhp. The guy he bought it from had kept all the graphs and tech sheets and passed em on with the car. So was totally genuine.

Go back and ask for a better tune.

But all i was saying it for was coz Billy's didnt have any throttle body work. Was about 3 years ago now so maybe they do things differently nowadays.

Me too (not a hairdresser) - give me big carbs and adjustable tappets any day.
Used to be able to tune an engine by ear - ya cant now!

Ah the march of progress!

There's a couple on the Newark pics. Have a hunt through. There's some mint Mk1's on them, that might interest you too, Rich.
