Title: Antifreeze

So, had the car only 4 months or so and yesterday night the coolant level light came on..... the manual tells me to fill up with antifreeze.. Is this normal... Should you not only fill up every couple of years.... I called up VW and they said to top it up... Should I be taking the car to them or just go ahead and fill up?

Top it up and see how you get on. If it happens again within a month or so Id take it back. I had a leaky flange on my MK5 which meant I was losing coolant, had it all sorted under warranty.

Is the coolant pink? If so I'd recommend topping up with VW's own brand coolant.

You will want G12 standard coolant, this can be bought from Halfords.
