Title: Glow Plug light flashing - Golf mk3 1.9TDI
Post by: gunnag on 20 December 2009, 21:13
Ive got a problem on my 1997 golf 1.9 tdi, the glow plug light comes on flashing.

Funny thing is, it only seems to happen when driving at a steady 70mph on the motorway. If I touch the brake, the light goes off.

I checked any dtc's with vagcom and it came up with something like 'implausable brake switch value', which I cleared, however it keeps reoccuring.

Any idea whats causing this and how to fix it?

Hi gunnag, mine does the same but not had mine on vag com, as youve found out it only does it on motorway coz your not touching brake where as round town you brake all the time, need to get mine on vag com and see if same thing
