Title: Allards 2.0 TDI Turbo Upgrade, Has anyone had one?
Post by: HasH on 20 December 2009, 08:21
Hello, im looking to buy a bigger turbo for my 2.0 TDI 140 GT and came across allards last weekend. i have sent them a couple of emails and they said they can supply a VT2 special build 220 bhp turbo, including delivery, for £925.00!

i asked them if any other parts would be required, new manifold maybe or clutch etc and they said...

"The turbo is a straight swap with your existing turbo, so all the pipework will connect to the new turbo. You just need to change oil and filter when you fit the new turbo.  The final power output will depend on the ECU remapping. You should not need an uprated clutch, but if you do, then an uprated drive plate is the most cost effective option - this is £223.00."

has anybody ever used them or heard anything good/bad about them? or does anyone know where else i can get a bigger turbo for more diesel power?

thanks

Allard are well known in Diesel tuning circles and I haven't heard any bad reports.

Similarly you could try Jabbasport.

Don't forget a remap with the bigger turbo, the standard 140 will remap to 180ish to the best of my memory.
