Title: ATS classics on a mk1: are there any cons I should know about?
Post by: Mertman on 17 December 2009, 19:54
Hi,

Im thinking of getting a set of you know whats to join in with all the other mk1's (I know its common, but I love them)

The car at the moment is lowered by 40mm, so first question:

am I going to have to lower the car further to acheive the desired look?

Obviously if I do, is that going to make the car ride like fred flintstones with regards to ride quality (I expect yes)

and finally, I expect this will affect gear ratios, but will I reach a desireable crusing speed.

The mk1 in question is only a 1.3CL so as far as crusing speed is concerned at the min it sits comfy at 65-70.

Also, if anybody could reccomend a garage in or around Notts/Derby to take said vehicle for a tune up would be great!

Thanks for your time!
