Title: How much is a timing belt on a TDi PD?
Post by: smiiithy on 15 December 2009, 18:47
Got a potential car lined up. Got FSH and timing belt done at 80K. It's now at 125K and last service was at 122K. Has only done 3,000 miles since buying it from local dealer in April. He says he's a taxi driver and drives an Octavia and he bought this for his wife but they are downsizing to one car. So how much is a timing belt on a TDi PD?

My mate has just agreed he can do it for £150 and estimated the kit at about £90. Does water pump need done at same time?

I always see water pump as a must as that'll be the next thing to go, meaning x2 on the labour charges

The one I'm buying had the belt done at 88,00 miles so I should get it done at 148,000?
