Title: Replacement Speakers

I have a Mk4 Golf Turbo and want to replace the standard speakers and wondered if anyone new the size of the standard ones and if so do they recommend any to replace them with. Also is it poss to replace the tweeters by the mirrors. Any help would be great.

I believe the mk4 has 17cm (6 1/2") speakers in the doors. Ultimately replace them with something like a Focal or Genesis quality speaker and pop some dynamat in there too. The tweets are probably 1" and would be provided with above speakers. If you can't stretch to ?500 speakers something for ?100 like the Alpine TypeR range are good. I have those in my mk2 and they sound good.
