Dont know what's happened, but its on the front passenger's side wing, too low for another car door, looks like a shopping trolly and level with the dent there is about 10 scratches on the door right next to it but they are very faint and will polish/t-cut out i think.
I'm not too happy and hope someone can tell me the best way of getting this fixed.
Will post up pics shortly.

how rude
can you feel the scratches with your fingernails? If you can't then there's a good chance you may be able to get them polished out. Otherwise if the scratches are deep then a respray will be needed

Yeah I can feel them, but they are not down to the metal and not too deep i dont think although I'm not an expert.

This first pic was just after giving the car a spray before washing, it was only then i noticed it, the car was very dirty before hand so it must have happened a few days ago or the scratches and dent would be visible

The rest of the pics are after a quick wash.

Dentmaster should be able to get that dent out.
The guy the Verve in Rutherglen used for me was great. He sorted it in less time than I could phone the Mrs. I kid you not.
The salesmen told me he had a TT in that had loads of dents along the crease of the car and the bodyshop had told him it needed a respray. Dentmaster guy came along and sorted it back to brand new.
I'll PM you his number. He is down in Rutherglen a lot ding the Verves stuff.

Agree mate looks like a shopping trolley, probably some t1t that reversed into a parking space when they went shopping, come back and try to get the trolley to the boot! Muppets! sorry to see it mate but agree with p3asa, dentmaster will sort that no probs as well as yer scratches.
-
Folk who leave shopping trolleys lying in the car park without putting them back in the 'trolley sheds' should be shot - end of!
Hopefully the wee dent will pop out ok - and the scratches will polish out.
-
That dent near the door flange is going to be a bu**er to get out!
-
As above, dentmaster should be able to sort you out, but the dent looks very close to the crease. Some of the dent guys wont even touch it if it's too close.
Hopefully you get it sorted mate.
-
Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate it.
How much will this repair likely to cost ?
-
i would imagine less than £100 but don't quote me! my old man had 4 "DINGS" took out the side of his astra a couple of years back, no scratches but was only £50! Bargain!
-
Thanks Jimble.
-

I'm not sure. Some quote per dent others it's per panel. I would think about £50. I've got a number of a guy who's self employed and does a lot of work for the guys on Scottish VAG if you need it also.

Cheers Davie, will check that out if dentmaster can't help me.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted okay Kev.
There are so many careless ignorant b'stards in supermarket car parks it's unreal
Makes my blood boil when I see needless damage like that.
-
Sorry to see that Kev. Hopefully they'll be able to get it out but it's right on the rolled edge so might be a little tricky. Dentmaster are very good though.

Went into Leeds yesterday morning on a shopping trip. Got back to the multi storey to find I had been parked next to by a family in an estate with kids in the back old enough to open their own doors. My heart sank as I knew they'd open the door without a care in the world and smack mine. Washed it yesterday afternoon and fortunately I think I've got away with it. Maybw they saw me arriving and told the kids to be careful.
What annoyed me though was that she sat in the passenger seat and watched me like an eagle get into my car as if I was going to smack my door into their piece of sh*t. As if!!!!
How sad is it though that I have to physically try and avoid parking next to cars with kiddy seats in the back? I don't mean to offend all you mums and dads out there but hopefully you can see where I'm coming from.

The trolly guys are the worst. Ive seen our one hit a car and walk off, i asked him if he just hit it and he said no. I checked and no damage luckily!
Dont worry though i told him he will be looking for a new job if i so much as here a trolley crash too loudly!
In a supermarket park as far away from the entrance as you can but make sure its under a light (theives at night) as no one parks far away. Underground car parks usually have cameras too

It doesn't matter how far away you park from the supermarket door. The whole car park could be empty when you park the car but guaranteed when you come back to it, there will be either a 4x4 wedged up beside it with baby seats in the back or a heap of junk up against it. Its sods law.
-
People with kids tend to go nearer though. I find the best looking car i can or one thats well modded (enthusiast hopefully)
-
Me too - park at the other end of the car park from the door (even when its p1ssing rain and the missus is moaning!) and try and find something expensive to park next to.
Having said that - there are heaps of folk with too much money who buy expensive cars and don't even care about them!
-
Yeah, newer the better. If not check the doors.
Otherwise get some of these

Brilliant. That's my Christmas sorted
-
That cheered me up a bit.
-
I know how you feel. Gutted.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

Tell me how it goes? I've got a ding in rear offside door that needs doing. :afro:

Will do.
Weve re-arranged to tomorrow now. So will update then.
-
That's a sh!tter, hopefully they'll come out easily.

Kev, sorry to hear what happen to your car. You bought so much detailing stuff to make it looks nice! Don't let this put you off waxing your car!
If the paint was intact, i think they can pull or hammer the panel out. However, if there is paint damage, the safest bet is a respray!
Same happens to me all the time. You can park your car miles away from a supermarket entrance but you will always find another dirty car parking next to you even when there are loads of space around.
On one occasion my brother got so annoy with a 4x4 that he left a note to the driver parking next to him---Why the f*** did you park your piece of s*** next to me!
That's why I like taking my old folks out cause they both got blue badges!

Thanks for your thoughts  Fingers crossed it can be knocked back out, doesnt look like there is any paint damage, but I'm no expert on this.
Totally love the note that was left, thats class.

Dent fixed by Dentmaster today, honestly, wow what a bloody good job, you could never tell there was ever a dent there in the first place  I actually was that happy I didnt realise the results would be so dramatic. Looks like a new wing.
Just got those little light scratches on the door, the genius of a guy said that it would probably be best to polish those scratches out with a machine rather than by hand. He said try by hand anyway, and If I get no joy I've to ring him and he'll give me a contact for that job too if I need him.
I'm made up
Will post up before and after pics tomorrow.

Defo that stuff ? I was looking at the Dodo Juice Lime Prime ? I have the Lime Prime lite but I think thats more of a pre-wax polish rather than having any cut to it.

That will do for me. I'm sold.
I said wow earlier to the G220 for £125, I didnt realise it was £129 brand new. So they defo hold their price well.
Seems on that detailing world site there's a guy that gives group lessons with the G220, think I'll benefit from it if I grab one ?

Yeah thats what i mean, you cant lose if you get one and look after it!
Davek i think, yeah. I dont think so really with the dual action, maybe a rotary as you can do damage with one of those. You would be better off get a nice scrap panel from a breakers, scratch it up and teach yourself as you need to feel it and pick up things on your own. Took me a year to get perfect with mine mate working on various paints an learning best pad/polish combos.

Thats a really good idea, think I'll do that.
Should I buy the pads etc on their own and that polish you recommended or buy one of the G220 kits ?
-
You will save money with the kit mate so probably best going for that!
-
Thanks mate, I appreciate all the help.
