Title: m3 to mk4
Post by: joff GTI on 12 December 2009, 22:59
i`ve just sold my beloved mk3 gti 16v & got myself a black mk4 1.8t gti anniversary , stage 2 re-mapped , full mill-tek exhaust system , fsh , 57k on the clock & cam belt & water pump done at 54k got it for £5800 which i think was good value!? had it up on my mechanics ramp n its all fine , apart from the 3 exhaust clamps that had rusted & snapped (had them re-placed today at quick fit for a tenner all in!) loving it so far , lovely interior , solid & goes well i`m not used to torque so it takes a bit of gettin used to..

couple of questions , the foot mats in it are cheap n worn & i was after some genuine anni mats , found some on ebay for 120 quid! f**k that , rang my local vw & they apparently don`t make them anymore , anyone know where i can get some or reccommend a set from elswhere?

also the passenger window gets stuck and won`t go back up by itself , i`ve heard this is common fault something to do with plastic clips breaking?!  what is the best/cheapest way to fix this? and how much am i looking at to fix it?

any other tasteful mods anyone would reccomend , my mate`s dad had one & he said a short shift & anti roll bars were the best ones?! if so what price are these inc fitting?

any advice would be much appreciated.. cheers joseph

Hey,

What M3 did you have?

Don't know much about anniversary's but with 57k on the clock & those extras it seems like a really good price.

Any pics?

Sounds a good price

Window regulator need replacing, you can get a repair kit off ebay for about £30
can get custom mats from JustMatz anything from £30 to £90 depending on what you want made
get a whiteline rear anti roll bar around £150 and a hour to fit.
get a mk5 rear wiper arm and leave everything else

oh and it you think your cars got loads of torque you want to drive a remapped diesel

Nice one mate, that is cheap! Mods usually make a car hard to sell though so not too suprising.
