Title: Oil Pressure Problem...............
Post by: eznugud on 10 December 2009, 20:17
Hi.....

I keep getting the "STOP" and red oil warning light plus "Stop oil pressure" light when I am going a little quicker than normal straight after going round a corner, it even came on this evening when going round a roundabout.................
The oil level is fine and the light soon goes off.......any ideas what it could be?

Thank you

Very common problem, dont take any risks get the oil drained, sump off and the pick up cleaned asap, I have see this problem kill a few engines in the past.  Finish off with a new oild filter ans some good quality oil.

If you dont fancy doing the job drop us an email and we can help you out.

Thank you for the replies, I will get it sorted as soon as possible..........The car was MOT`ed and serviced in August then parked up and not touched until I bought it on Sunday....

Nick, I was actually going to give you a ring regarding bring it down to you in early in the new year.......its been re-mapped to 200+bhp but it just does not seem right....... a little jerky / flat spotty in 2nd and 3rd....

Thanks

I'd like to echo Nicks words on this subject,it's just not worth the risk.I 've had the unfortunate experience of hearing a 1.8t give up due to lack of oil pressure and it wasn't nice.Cost my bro in law well over £1500 to buy and have a replacement engine and have it fitted.
