Title: Interior lights??

 Does any one know why some interior lights have a grill on like this:

 I thought it was a temp sensor for the climate control, but when I had the light out theres just a piece of black foam behind it :huh:

Why not wrap it in carbon, cover that crack up haha.!!

 Thats my old one anyone, I got one from Wazzzer after breaking that which didn't have the grill part, thats why I was aksing what its for.
