Title: so fed up.
Post by: jamie16v on 09 December 2009, 11:05
it all started when my clutch started slipping so decided to go for the g60/vr6 set up.
so i ordered my sachs clutch from a well known tinterweb site, waited a week and got fed up of waiting so decided to phone.
they tell me there is none in stock and are on a another 10 day wait from germany .
so, i managed to get a refund and scraped the cash to source one locally  25 quid cheaper too.
next was the flywheel, tried every local scrappy with no luck at all, so the internet came to the rescue (ish). found a well known vw breaker and they send me the wrong flywheel .
so, got another wait now .

I know that feeling mate, since i got my Turbo back in mid November i have not stopped spending money on it :(
Was up bodyshop last night getting the rust sorted out around the boot handle.
Its all the £20-£50 that add up on the C/C at the end of the month.....(oh and there was the £390.00 coil over kit aswell).
But i'm hopeing there is a light at the end of the tunnel.......  :undecided:

har har  not as much as you think

tis a strange one in that in 4th gear it drops to 22-23PSI yet 5th gear holds 24PSI  :undecided:

I'm sure rtec said why something like that happens in, the january meet thread

I'm sure Nick said he wasn't sure when i spoke to him yesterday

I know 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears you will never load the engine enough to see that sort of PSI maintained but 4th onwards should do   :undecided:

Oh well - new suspension is on the cards and it drives fine at the moment; we'll see in January if i got a problem but I know that my car will be run in 5th gear so it should be fine

ok maybe i wasn't sure then

thought about trying 10k boost for dervs?

or maybe a tiny tiny boost leak? but i guess it'd show in 4th as well?

10K boost? What's that?? Like an octane booster equivalent?   I run Forte diesel treatment through every now and again and also only use Total Excellieum diesel which is full of a few extra additives designed to keep everything fairly clean; also means I get at least another 40 miles out of a tank  :smug:

If it was a boost leak I'd expect to see it in all gears  :undecided:

its like a vindaloo for engine gunk

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_185236_langId_-1_categoryId_165750#dtab

but if it was a tiny split rather than a hole, maybe full boost forces it out?

just guessing mind

but 5th gear HOLDS the boost and the engine is under full load more in 5th than 4th gear
